Do you dare to discover the terrifying sound of whistles of death? MIMMA presents you this exhibition of Aztec instruments.

In the Aztec world were found different mud whistles. The sound of some of them resembles the wind or imitates the sound of animals, but others sound produce howls and chilling screams.

Those usually have skull shapes or creepy figures. The function of the whistles of death is still being studied: on the one hand, it is believed that they served to frighten the enemy in wars, but it is also claimed, that they were used in funeral rituals.
